All you need is one killer track. I was invited by Sony to illustrate a retro VHS cover to celebrate the release of Baby Driver on Blu-Ray. I loved the film and had so much fun with this unfortunately unused concept.

I was thrilled to be commissioned by Disney Pixar Studios to illustrate an alternative movie poster for Cars 3 in collaboration with The Poster Posse. I pitched a vintage racing poster that was completely different from the high resolution and glossy artwork from the main marketing campaign. They loved it!

The art was all digitally painted in Adobe Photoshop using a Wacom Intuos Pro in combination with Kyle's Brushes. 

The Underworld franchise is a guilty pleasure of mine if I can be honest with you. Do the films engage me with award winning storytelling and acting? Definitely not. Do they entertain me on a high level when I need a mental break? Hell yes! I was thrilled to be commissioned by Sony Home Entertainment in partnership with the Poster Posse to illustrate a retro VHS cover to promote the digital and blu-ray release of Underworld: Blood Wars. It was bloody fun. 

To celebrate Nocturnal Animals, Tom Ford’s stunning romantic thriller, Movie Pilot and Focus Features challenged graphic artists around the world to create an alternate movie poster for the film. Drawing inspiration from the trailer, Tom Ford’s iconic visual style, and my own personal experience, I crafted this piece to capture the theme of emasculation and revenge while incorporating the story within a story element from the film.

This film was a dream come true for me. I'm a huge DC fanboy and Superman has always been tops for me in terms of super heroes. I had the pleasure of contributing to a group art show with the Poster Posse. 

I wanted to create some alternative movie art using a reversible image so you can choose which way to hang it based off of your hero preference. #whowillwin?

I had the pleasure of participating in an officially licensed group show with the Poster Posse in partnership with iam8bit. 

As a long time X-phile and gamer I wanted to create a fun mash up using the moody essence of the show combined with the style of Monument Valley and Crystal Castles. The isometric style allowed me to build a game landscape out of the X and to place easter eggs from the show throughout the piece.

I read Ready Player One shortly after it was published  and fell in love. I really connected with the story and all of the incredibly nostalgic references so naturally I couldn’t resist creating this tribute piece.

I wanted the art itself to look like a 3 tiered game inspired by Monument Valley in order to reflect the core themes of the book. I had great fun stuffing the print with as many relevant pop-culture references as I could.

"A New Breed of Hero"

I was recently commissioned to illustrate an alternative movie poster for Howard the Duck from 1986. You know, the George Lucas one. With Lea Thompson and Mr. Rooney. The infamous big-budget flop, based on the Marvel Comics series. Yes, there are people who want a poster for what many consider to be an amazing waste of celluloid. I am one of them. 
 
I didn't hesitate to take the project as it was a childhood favorite and I thought it would be challenging to create art for a movie that most people just really didn't like. In the poster I wanted to present what could be Howard's desk after the events in the movie. The centerpiece being a Birdweiser beer bottle behind a lit cigar with the main characters revealed in the smoke. To the left and right are toy replicas of the laser spectroscope and Dark Overlord monster from the climax of the film. I figure Howard would have these to brag about saving the world. 

If you know me at all it's not a surprise how excited I was to work on this Poster Posse tribute to Avengers: Age of Ultron. I'm a massive comic book and robot geek so the combination of my favorite Marvel characters was a dream come true. I tried something different with the vector line art to riff off of the "No strings on me" tag and red is a major theme in the film.

Since it was first released in 1979, the original film, “Mad Max,” which launched the career of Mel Gibson, has captured the imagination of fans around the world.  Now, original director George Miller is back with an all new all-star cast as he retells the story and adventures of Max Rockatansky.

The Poster Posse is at it again with this insane collection of art for George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road. This is my piece for the digital show.

The Poster Posse was invited by Disney to create a visual tribute for their upcoming film, Big Hero 6. I wanted to showcase the 2 main characters Hiro and Baymax while putting them in an unlikely spot, on the San Fransokyo Golden Gate Bridge. Also, hairy baby!

The Hobbit was my gateway book to escapist reading when I was a kid so with the final movie coming out I thought it was the perfect time to release this poster. The idea was to position Smaug and The Lonely Mountain as one gigantic force that our heroes would have to overcome. Here they form a silhouette with the One Ring behind them. As much as I love the films nothing can ever beat the written word. This is my homage to both and was included in Hero Complex Gallery's Show 'Imagined Worlds 2' celebrating the work of directors James Cameron, John Carpenter, Peter Jackson, Christopher Nolan & Stephen Spielberg.

Christopher Nolan + Sci-fi will always get me to the Alamo Drafthouse. Since 2000’s “Memento” he has given us some mind-bending, engulfing and mesmerizing stories. “Batman Begins,” “The Prestige”, “The Dark Knight,” “Inception” etc. have all given us a smorgasbord of excellent storytelling partnered with an incredible visual assault that leaves fans craving his next film project.

Celebrating Batman's 75th birthday by going old school was a no brainer. I wanted to combine the classic 1940s logo and Batmobile as well as feature the Dark Knight in true comic book form. How's that nostalgic punch to the face feel?

The Dark Tower is an epic story told on a scale I haven’t experienced before or since.  Stephen King managed to merge plot lines and characters from his other properties to form a singular universe. I wanted to do the same by combining three major characters from the series to form one continuous shape. The Dark Tower, the gunslinger’s pistol and Roland himself all stand front and center atop the field of roses. Fans of the series may find some hidden easter eggs so look closely.

This will be available March 21st at the Hero Complex Gallery and is part of a group show, "King For a Day", an art tribute to Stephen King's full body of collected works, opening on March 21st, from 7-10pm.

Godzilla is the King of the Monsters and Godzilla vs. Mothra was the king of my VCR back in the day. I'm a massive fan of the character and was delighted to submit this piece to Poster Posse project number 7. The first is considered a teaser poster for the 2014 Godzilla movie while the second piece could be used as a Vinyl LP cover for the soundtrack.

Godzilla's foot print is as massive in his films as it is in pop-culture and movie history. I wanted to capture that on paper and hope you enjoy the print.

I remember seeing WALL-E for the first time years ago and being blown away by the dead and dusty world that Pixar had created. Those towers of trash made for a really interesting backdrop to WALL-E’s story. It wasn’t until I watched it recently for the first time with my daughter that I realized the importance of the scene when he found the growing plant. She was so excited to see something green and living in that seemingly dead world and couldn’t get over it. It’s a major turning point in the story and I just had to capture that moment as it’s one of the most important themes in the film and a great memory I have with my daughter.

I had been looking for a reason to tackle a black & white classic, so when I saw Planet-Pulp’s “Besties” theme I immediately thought of The Day the Earth Stood Still. Klaatu & Gort made for quite the dynamic duo coming out of that ship in 1951. I wanted to recreate the iconic scene using a style that matched the look of the film. Plus I had an excuse to draw a UFO, score!

A Castle Grayskull illustration just for fun and used as an exercise to transition from mouse & keyboard to a Wacom Intuos 4. 

Super Mario Bros. came bundled with my first NES and started my life long obsession with gaming. Everyone privileged enough to play it probably remembers level one more than any other. The idea here is to capture those memories of the level we played the most and offer them up as framed nostalgia, or paper Nintendo.

The Legend of Zelda introduced me to a different level of gaming, one that combined an open world and difficult puzzles. It was also my first introduction to interactive fantasy storytelling that led to a life long love affair with escapism reading. It required a lot of trial and error and teaming up with friends to beat different areas of the game. How many times did we enter The Eagle on our quest to defeat Ganon? Too many to count. The idea was to capture those moments with friends and offer them up as framable pieces of art.

If The Legend of Zelda turned me on to fantasy RPGs, Metroid got me heavily into sci-fi. I remember a lot of Saturday mornings exploring Zebes, finding new power ups, and killing aliens. What I remember most is starting in level one and finding the Morph Ball. I was amazed. I wanted to take that memory and combine it with the most memorable enemies from the game so I could print it up, frame it proudly, and bask in all its nostalgic glory. Pray for true peace in space!
